Yes  vendor multishipping is necessary for vendors to ship their own products.
Also admin can allow several shipping methods for his vendors by going through:
CsMarketplace Tab > Vendor Configuration > Vendor Multishipping
So vendors can use all shipping methods that are allowed by admin.
