Why it happens

  • Category restrictions. The category requires prior approval before you can list in it.
  • Lack of authorization. You haven't completed Amazon's approval process for this category.
  • Compliance issues. Past policy violations may have removed or reduced your access to the category.

How to fix it

  1. In Seller Central, check the category's listing policy and apply for approval if it's available (typically under Inventory → Add a Product → Apply to Sell).
  2. Provide any documentation Amazon requests (invoices, certifications, brand authorization, etc.).
  3. Once Amazon grants approval, retry the upload from the app.
