Error 8056: Incorrect ASIN Provided

Error 8056: Incorrect ASIN Provided

The ASIN you provided for the SKU is wrong, doesn't exist in Amazon's catalog, or is in an invalid format. ASINs must match an existing Amazon listing exactly — any mismatch breaks the upload.

Why it happens

  • Incorrect ASIN entry. The ASIN entered is wrong or contains a typo.
  • Invalid ASIN format. The ASIN doesn't comply with Amazon's format (typically 10 alphanumeric characters).
  • Non-existent ASIN. The ASIN doesn't correspond to any existing product in Amazon's catalog.
  • Misaligned ASIN. The ASIN doesn't match the product details of the SKU you're uploading.

How to fix it

  1. Verify the correct ASIN on Amazon — search Amazon for the product and copy the ASIN from the listing URL.
  2. Check the ASIN's format (10 alphanumeric characters).
  3. Update the product's ASIN in the app and re-upload.
  4. If the SKU genuinely has no existing Amazon match, switch to a New Listing path instead of an Offer Listing.
