Auto-trim long product descriptions to fit Amazon's 2000-character limit

Amazon caps product descriptions at 2000 characters. If a Shopify description goes over that limit, the listing upload fails. Turn on auto-trim so the app shortens long descriptions automatically before pushing to Amazon.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Product Settings → Product Details.
  2. Find the Auto-trim description card.
  3. Toggle it on.
  4. Save.

What this does

  • For any product whose Shopify description exceeds 2000 characters, the app trims the description to fit before uploading to Amazon.
  • Products with descriptions already under 2000 characters are sent as-is.

Note

If the same setting is also applied on a product edit or template edit, priority is: Product Edit → Template Edit → Global Settings.
