GPSR compliance is one of the new additions to the compliance protocol introduced by Europe for its eCommerce sellers in the region. Complying with this regulation requires an EU-based Responsible person and increased product safety rules to ensure consumer protection on the platform. 

With the enhanced functionality of our integration app, you can now ensure product compliance effectively and easily. 

Why GPSR:

Reasons to introduce the GPSR in the App:

  1. Simplified Compliance Process: The GPSR compliance requirements can be complex and time-consuming. By integrating this dedicated section into our app, sellers can manage and fulfill compliance requirements seamlessly without navigating multiple external systems.
  2. Centralized Management: Sellers can add and maintain essential GPSR details such as Responsible Person information and product safety data directly within the app, ensuring all information is in one place for easy access and updates.

Sellers can make their products GPSR-compliant through our integration app in one of the following ways: 

1. Through Category Template: 

Certain products require compliance with TikTok Shop policy to make them ready for sale on the Shop. In this section, you will have to add accurate product compliance details to give shoppers a transparent overview of your products.
  1. On the Category Template page, click on the Add Template button on the right-hand side top corner of the page. 

  1. After filling out the required category details on the page that opens, you will see the Product Compliance section, below the Shipping Details.
  2. Here, add details, as required by the compliance.
Notes
  1. Note: Different categories might require different/ additional details for compliance. 


You can also edit the details of product compliance for a particular category. 
  1. Click on the edit button under the Actions tab, next to the category. 
  2. On the page that opens, you can edit and add the Manufacturer and Responsible Person details, as required by the compliance. You can also edit and add any regulatory marking or labeling. 

Strengths:

  1. Consistency: Ideal for products that share similar compliance requirements.
  2. Efficiency: Streamlines data entry for categories rather than individual products.

Weaknesses:

  1. Limited Flexibility: Not ideal for products with unique compliance needs.

Best for:

  1. Sellers with structured product categories require uniform compliance data.
  2. Those managing multiple products within the same category.

2. Through a CSV file: 

Sellers can select the products in bulk, export the CSV files, make edits in the set, and then import them back into the app for effortless management.
  1. Click on the Products section under the Manage Listings tab available on the left-hand side panel on the dashboard. 


  1. Click on Export CSV under the More Actions tab on the left-hand side at the top of the page.

  1. In the pop that opens, select Product Compliance and click on Export CSV.

  1. Now, in the exported CSV file, fill in the required GPSR details.
  2. Once the data are added, import the file back to the app through the Impost CSV option available under the same head. 
Herein, you can either select all the products available on the current page or choose the products you have already selected. Upon exporting the CSV, you can make the changes as required in all the selected products at once and then import them back to the app.

Strengths:

  1. Time-Efficient: Ideal for updating large inventories quickly.
  2. Bulk Management: Supports simultaneous updates for multiple products.

Weaknesses:

  1. Technical Complexity: Requires familiarity with CSV file management.
  2. Data Accuracy Risk: Potential errors during manual CSV editing.

Best for:

  1. High-volume sellers managing extensive product inventories.
  2. Sellers that are comfortable with spreadsheet tools for data manipulation.

3. Product-wise: 

Once the product is imported from Shopify, you can edit and update GPSR details before listing it on TikTok Shop.
  1. Identify the product you want to edit. 
  2. Click on the hamburger menu of the Actions Tab.
  3. Select Edit Product.

  1. Under the Attributes Mapping section, you can add and edit the Product Compliance section

Strengths:

  1. High Customization: Perfect for detailed, product-specific compliance data.
  2. Granular Control: Allows sellers to fine-tune compliance details for unique products.

Weakness:

  1. Time-Consuming: Not practical for large inventories.

Best For: 

  1. Niche sellers with specialized or premium products.
  2. Those who need detailed compliance data for individual products.

4. Through Qualification-center: 

  1. Click on the Qualification-center tab on the left-hand side panel of the dashboard. 
Here you will get Responsible Person and Manufacturer Information. 
- Responsible Person: You can add a list of people responsible for completing and aligning the products' details on TikTok Shop. You can filter the Responsible Person based on their name, phone, email, and address.
- Manufacturer Information: You can review and add a list of all manufacturers of your products along with their details. You can filter the Manufacturer based on their name, Registered Trade Name, email, and address.

  1. To add or edit the details of the Responsible Person, click on the menu of the same name under the Qualification Center.
  2. Here, click on the Add tab on the right-hand side at the top of the page to add the relevant details. 

- You can also edit and manage products assigned to a specific Responsible Person.

To Manage Products: 
  1. Click on the Manage Products button under the Actions tab. 
  1. On the page that opens, you can link new products under the same person or even unlink the products you desire. 


To Edit Details:
  1. Click on the Edit button under the Actions tab.
  1. In the popup that appears, edit the required information and click on Save
You can follow the same steps to add/edit details about the Manufacturer’s Information. 

Strengths:

  1. Centralized Management: Efficient for tracking compliance roles and manufacturer details.
  2. Bulk Product Linking: Streamlines product assignments to compliance roles.

Weakness: 

  1. Complex Setup: May require initial effort to configure compliance roles.
  2. Learning Curve: Some sellers may need time to navigate the features.

Best For: 

  1. Mid to large-scale sellers working with multiple suppliers or compliance personnel.
  2. Sellers managing diverse product lines.

GPSR Compliance Data Fields: 

To make their store GPSR compliance while operating in European marketplaces, sellers are required to address and fill in the following attributes: 

  1. Responsible Person: There must be a designated Responsible Person to ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations. This individual or entity serves as the key point of contact for authorities and plays a critical role in safeguarding product safety and traceability throughout the product's lifecycle. The Responsible Person must be clearly identified and authorized to act on behalf of the manufacturer. They may be the manufacturer themselves, an importer, a distributor who assumes these responsibilities, or any appointed representative established within the EU. 
  2. Manufacturer: The manufacturer must clearly state its full name or registered trade name to establish accountability and help consumers identify the product's source. If the business operates under a specific registered trade name or trademark, this must also be displayed to maintain consistency in brand recognition. In addition to a physical address, an electronic means of contact, such as an email address or an official website, must be provided. 
  3. Regulatory Marking Or Label: Regulatory marking or labeling is essential to ensure transparency, traceability, and consumer safety. Manufacturers must provide clear, visible, and legible markings directly on the product. The label must include key details. Where applicable, products should bear conformity markings like the CE mark, signaling compliance with EU safety regulations. 
  4. Safety Warning: This ensures that consumer products placed on the EU market do not pose a risk to health and safety when used as intended or in reasonably foreseeable conditions. Manufacturers are obligated to design, produce, and market products that meet stringent safety criteria, reflecting a comprehensive approach to hazard mitigation and consumer protection. Clear and detailed instructions for use, as well as safety warnings, must accompany the product to guide consumers in safe handling. This information should be presented in a language easily understood by consumers in the country where the product is marketed. 
  5. Image Of Packaging: A visual representation of the product's packaging plays a crucial role in ensuring product safety, compliance, and consumer protection. Packaging must clearly display essential information, including the manufacturer’s name, address, and product identification details if they cannot be directly marked on the product. It should also protect the product from damage during transport and storage, maintaining its integrity and safety.

  1. Small-Scale Sellers: Opt for product-wise updates if managing a limited inventory, as this provides detailed control.
  2. Medium to Large-Scale Sellers: Use the CSV bulk upload method for efficient inventory management.
