Selling in the European Union (EU) comes with its own set of regulations, and the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is a crucial one. Effective December 13, 2024, GPSR enforces that all consumer products sold in the EU meet stringent safety and compliance standards.

As a CedCommerce Amazon Channel user, you now can map product attributes and ensure compliance with GPSR requirements directly within our integration. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to align your product listings with EU safety regulations, minimizing risks and ensuring seamless selling.

How to map attributes in the CedCommerce Amazon Channel to meet GPSR standards?

Ensuring your products meet GPSR standards on Amazon requires mapping the correct attributes. Follow these steps to map Safety & Compliance attributes in the CedCommerce Amazon Channel:

Option 1: Mapping Attributes via Product Edit

  1. Navigate to Product Edit

    • Go to the Listings Section and select the product you want to edit.

  1. Assign an Amazon Category



  • Once the edit page is open, Scroll down to "Add Amazon Category."

  • If the product is not yet assigned to a template, you can select a category here.

  • Example: Appliances > Heating & Cooling Appliances > Room Heaters > Electric Heater

  • Select “Custom Product Type” to enable attribute mapping.


  1. Map Required GPSR Attributes

    • Locate the Attribute Mapping section.

  • Click on "Safety & Compliance" > "Add Attributes."



  • Open the search bar and type "GPSR."



  • Select “Safety Attestation” and “Manufacturer Reference.”

  • Open the dropdown for each and choose either Amazon Recommendation or Custom Values.



  1. Map Compliance Media Attributes

    • Open the search bar again and type "Compliance Media."



  • This will display the following attributes:

    • Compliance Media Language

    • Compliance Media Content Type

    • Compliance Media Source Location



  • Choose either Amazon Recommended or Shopify Attributes for the first two.

  • For Compliance Media Source Location, set a Custom Value or choose a Shopify Attribute.

  1. Save Your Changes


Option 2: Mapping Attributes in Bulk via Templates

  1. Go to Settings > Templates > Edit.



  1. Scroll down to "Add Amazon Category."



  1. Find the Attribute Mapping section and navigate to Safety & Compliance.



  1. Follow the same steps as above to add GPSR and Compliance Media attributes.

  2. Save the template to apply these settings across multiple products assigned to the template.
