How to Create a New Pricing Policy

How to Create a New Pricing Policy

A Pricing Policy defines which price is sent from Magento to TikTok Shop, how that price is adjusted, and how currency conversion is handled. This gives you full control over marketplace pricing without changing your store’s original product price.

Step 1: Open Pricing Policy

  1. Go to TikTok Marketplace → TikTok Policies
  2. Click Add Policy
  3. Select Pricing Policy
You will be redirected to the New Pricing Policy configuration page.

Step 2: Enter Policy Title

Title

  1. Enter a clear internal name for your pricing rule.
  2. This title is used only for internal identification and policy assignment.

Step 2: Price Settings

This section controls which Magento price is used, how the price is adjusted, and how currency conversion is applied. It includes:

Price Attribute

This decides which Magento price field will be used for TikTok pricing.
Available options include:
  1. Price → Standard selling price
  2. Cost → Product cost
  3. Minimal Price
  4. Minimum Advertised Price
  5. RRP (Recommended Retail Price)
  6. Special Price → Promotional or discounted price

Price Change By

This setting allows you to increase or decrease your Magento price before sending it to TikTok.
Available options:
  1. None: Sends Magento price to TikTok as-is
  2. Fixed Increment: Adds a fixed amount
  3. Fixed Decrement: Subtracts a fixed amount
  4. Percent Increment: Increases price by a percentage
  5. Percent Decrement: Decreases the price by a percentage
Use this to:
  1. Add marketplace commission buffer
  2. Run promotional discounts
  3. Adjust for regional tax differences
  4. Protect margins during ad campaigns

Currency Conversion Rate

This field is used when your Magento base currency is different from your TikTok Shop currency. The conversion is calculated relative to Magento’s base currency.
Use this only for:
  1. Cross-border selling
  2. Multi-region TikTok Shop setups
Leave this blank if both platforms use the same currency.

Step 3: Save the Pricing Policy

  1. Click the Save button
  2. The system validates:
    1. Title
    2. Price Attribute
    3. Price Change By logic
  3. Once saved successfully:
    1. Policy status becomes VALID
    2. The policy becomes available for assignment

Step 4: Assign the Pricing Policy

After saving:
  1. Go to TikTok Marketplace → Listing Templates
  2. Open an existing template or create a new one
  3. Assign your newly created Pricing Policy
  4. Save the template
This policy will now control:
  1. Selling price on TikTok
  2. Markups/discounts
  3. Currency logic for all products using that template.
