How to Create a Profile on the CedCommerce Etsy Integration App

Profiling is a key feature of the app that is essential for listing products on Etsy. Before listing any products, you must create a profile and assign products to it. This profile will include vital details such as the Etsy category, required attributes, and a shipping template.

Only products assigned to a profile can be published on Etsy. Profiling helps you organize and group products by important criteria like category, attributes, and shipping settings. You can create as many profiles as needed and assign multiple products to each one. However, no product can be published on Etsy until it’s assigned to a profile.

To create a profile:

  1. Navigate to the Profiling Section: This is located in the left-hand menu. Once clicked, you’ll be taken to the Profiling page to begin organizing your products.

  2. Fill in the Required Fields: When creating a new profile, you will need to assign:

    • Profile Name: Choose a unique name for the profile.
    • Etsy Category: Select the appropriate category for your product.
    • Conditions: Define rules for grouping similar products under the profile based on specific criteria.
    • Listing Details: Complete fields for 'Who made it?', 'What is it?', 'When did you make it?', and other relevant attributes.
    • Shipping & Policies: Choose or create templates for shipping and policies.
    • Advanced Mapping: Optionally select inventory and price templates to manage stock levels and pricing.
  3. Save the Profile: After completing the necessary details, click on "Save" to create the profile.

Profile Grid

The Profile Grid allows you to view and manage all the profiles you've created. Each profile is displayed with key details like:

  • Name
  • Created On
  • Status
  • Products Assigned
  • Profile Type
  • Actions (Edit, Clone, Delete)

You can filter and search for profiles based on criteria like name, status, and creation date.

Managing Profiles:

  • Edit: Modify the profile’s details.
  • Clone: Create a copy of an existing profile for new products.
  • Delete: Remove the profile, which will unassign any associated products.

By setting up profiles, you ensure that your products are properly categorized and ready to be listed on Etsy with the correct attributes.
