How to Manage Order Policy

An Order Policy controls how TikTok orders are created, processed, invoiced, shipped, and mapped inside your Magento store. It defines automation rules for order import, customer handling, taxes, notifications, shipment updates, and order status synchronization.
This policy is always assigned at the Account Level.

Step 1: Open Order Policy

  1. Go to TikTok Marketplace → TikTok Policies
  2. Click Add Policy
  3. Select Order Policy
You will be redirected to the New Order Policy configuration screen.

Step 2: Enter Policy Title

Enter a clear internal name for your order workflow.
This name is used only for internal identification and selection.


Step 3: Enable Order Creation in Magento 

Create Order in Magento → Yes / No 

  1. Yes → Automatically creates TikTok orders in Magento
  2. No → Orders will NOT be created in Magento 

Step 4: Order Settings 

This section controls when orders are created, SKU behavior, stock logic, tax handling, and notifications. 

Create Order When: 

Select the TikTok order status at which Magento orders should be created.
Available options:
  1. Awaiting Shipment
  2. Awaiting Collection
  3. In Transit
  4. Delivered
  5. Completed
  6. Cancelled 
Best Practice: Select Awaiting Shipment to ensure:
  1. Stock is reserved immediately
  2. Orders are processed without delay
  3. The shipment workflow starts early 

Alternate SKU Attribute 

Use this only if: 
  1. TikTok SKU is stored in a custom Magento attribute
  2. Default SKU does not match TikTok 

If Product Not Exist 

Controls what happens if a TikTok order item is not found in Magento. Options include: 
  1. Do Not Create Order: The order is skipped if the product is missing
  2. Create Product and Order: Automatically creates a dummy product and then creates the order 

Order for Out-of-Stock / Disabled Product

  1. Yes: The order will still be created even if the product is disabled or out of stock
  2. No: Order will NOT be created in this scenario 

Use Magento Taxes → 

  1. Yes → Applies Magento’s tax rules to TikTok orders
  2. No → Uses TikTok’s tax values directly 

Allow Order Notification →

  1. Yes → Sends notification when order is created in Magento
  2. No → No email notifications are sent

Notification Email

Enter the email address that should receive order alerts.

Order ID Prefix

Adds a prefix to Magento order numbers to identify TikTok orders. This helps: 
  1. Separate TikTok orders from website orders
  2. Simplify reporting & reconciliation

Step 5: Invoice Settings

Invoice Creation

  1. Yes → Automatically generates an invoice when an order is created
  2. No → Invoice must be created manually

Step 6: Shipment Settings

Shipment Creation

  1. Yes → Automatically pushes shipment updates to TikTok when you ship in Magento
  2. No → Shipment must be updated manually

Carrier Mapping

You must map:
  1. Magento Carrier Title (e.g., Delivery, FedEx, BlueDart)
  2. Marketplace Carrier (TikTok-supported carriers)
Steps:
  1. Enter Magento carrier name
  2. Select the corresponding TikTok carrier
  3. Click Add 
This ensures: 
  1. Correct tracking sync
  2. TikTok recognises the shipment carrier
  3. Delivery status updates work properly

Step 7: Customer Settings

  1. Guest Customer: All TikTok orders are created under a generic guest account
  2. Real Customer: Each order creates a new Magento customer account
  3. Same Customer: All TikTok orders are assigned to a single fixed customer

Step 8: Order Status Mapping

This section ensures that TikTok order updates automatically update the Magento order status.
Steps:
  1. Click Add
  2. Select:
    1. Marketplace Order Status
    2. Magento Order Status
  3. Save the mapping
This ensures real-time order lifecycle sync between platforms.


Step 9: Save the Order Policy

  1. Click the Save button (top-right)
  2. System validates all required fields
  3. Policy becomes VALID
  4. Policy is now available

Step 10: Assign the Order Policy

  1. Go to TikTok Marketplace → Account Settings
  2. Assign your newly created Order Policy
  3. Save the account
Order automation will now start for all incoming TikTok orders.
