How to Map Attributes

Your goal is to connect each TikTok attribute with the corresponding attribute in your store.

For example: 

1. TikTok Attribute: Edition Type
2. Store Attribute: book_edition_type
   

If an attribute is required, it must be mapped before products in that category can be uploaded.

Create Custom Brands

When setting up product data in Magento, Sellers need a reliable way to define and standardize brand information so it can be consistently applied across all products and integrations.

Steps:

Navigate to Listing> Attributes in Magento and open the Brand attribute. Create a new brand value and save your changes.

Outcome:

The newly created brand value becomes available for mapping in your integration, enabling you to consistently assign and manage brand information across your product catalog going forward.

Best Practices

1. Ensure all Required attributes are mapped- Without this, product upload or update will fail.
2. Pay attention to Category Dependent attributes- These attributes appear only for categories where they apply. Check category assignments if you do not see the expected requirements.
3. Review Is Variant attributes- Attributes marked as variant generate product variations on TikTok (size, color, etc.). Always map variant attributes carefully to prevent incorrect SKU grouping.
4. After making changes, click Assign Attributes- This step updates your listing template so that new mappings apply during product upload/sync.
   

Once attributes are fully mapped and saved:

1. Go to Listing Products.
2. Validate your products under the assigned categories.
3. Upload/sync products to TikTok Shop. 
   

Your products will now use the correct TikTok attribute structure, improving listing quality and reducing sync errors.
