Step 1: Select Products to Upload
Go to your product list and filter by the profile status “Assigned Profile”, as only these products are eligible for publishing.
- Alternatively, you can select the products you want to publish and either:
- Create a new profile and assign it to the selected products, or
- Assign them to an existing profile before proceeding with publishing.
Step 2: Click on Publish/Upload
- Once the products are selected, locate the Publish/Upload button on the right-hand side of the toolbar at the top.
- Click on this button to proceed.
If your products are already assigned to a profile, they will either be published directly or updated with any edited details.
However, if the products are not assigned to a profile and appear in the “Not Profiled” tab of your Products section, you must first assign them to a profile. You can do this by assigning them to an existing profile or by creating a new one.
In the next steps, we’ll walk you through how to create a profile, and then publish your products.
Step 3: Select or Verify a Profile
Important Note: If you see a message like "Mixed status found!", it means you’ve selected products with varying statuses:
Fresh Uploads: Products without assigned profiles will be uploaded to a new or selected profile.
Profile Assigned Products: These products are already live or assigned to a profile. They will not be re-uploaded but updated based on the assigned profile's settings.
If a Profile is Ready:
Select the existing profile.
Verify the profile details to ensure accuracy.
Click Publish/Upload to proceed.
Alternatively, if you need to Create a New Profile:
Select the option to create a new profile.
Provide a name for the profile.
Begin customizing it.
Step 4: Customize Profile Details
Set a name for your profile to help you identify it, and then begin with "Basic Mapping for Etsy Category"
Followed by Variation Mapping:
Variation Mapping helps ensure that product variants, such as size and color, are correctly synced between your Shopify store and Etsy.
Once you select your "Etsy Category", you will be asked to map your Shopify product attributes with Etsy’s attribute options to ensure product variants are listed correctly.
For example: Link size, color, or other attributes for seamless variant management.
Example of Variation Mapping
For example, let’s say you sell T-shirts in multiple sizes (Small, Medium, Large) and colors (Red, Blue, Green).
Map Shopify Attributes to Etsy:
In Shopify, you have variants set up for Size and Color.
During the integration setup, you will map Shopify’s Size attribute to Etsy’s Size option and Shopify’s Color attribute to Etsy’s Color option.
Sync Variants:
When you sync the product, Etsy will display the correct variants based on the mapped attributes, such as T-shirts available in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, and Red, Blue, and Green colors.
Step 5: Provide Listing Details
Fill out these sections to ensure your products comply with Etsy’s guidelines:
About the Listing
- Who made it? Select whether you, someone else, or a production partner made the product.
- What is it? Choose the type of product (e.g., a finished product, a supply, or a tool).
- When was it made? Specify the timeframe when the product was created (e.g., made-to-order, before 2000, etc.).
Step 6: Shipping Template
Assign a shipping template to define shipping costs, processing times, and destinations for your products.
Step 7: Policy Template
Link a policy template to apply consistent shop policies like returns, exchanges, and cancellations to your listings.
Step 8: Advanced Mapping
This section will help you fine-tune product details and category attributes for Etsy.
- Begin with "Link Images to Product Variants" where you can attach specific images to product variants so buyers can easily see all available options, such as colors or styles.
- Proceed with "Choose Recommended Attributes"
What Are Recommended Attributes?
Recommended attributes are specific product details suggested by us to enhance the discoverability and appeal of your listings.
These attributes provide structured data that helps buyers filter and search for products more effectively. By filling out recommended attributes, you improve your product's visibility and relevance in search results on Etsy.
Add specific attribute values (e.g., size, color, or sustainability).
Example:
Attribute: Color Value: Rose Gold Shopify: etsy_tags (or as is displayed in Shopify)
Step 9: As shown in the image below, proceed with the following profile details:
Production Partner:
Specify any production partners involved. To create new partners, click the provided link.
Listing Renewal: You can choose your listing renewal option, either manual or automatic.
1. Manual Renewal: Listings will not automatically renew. You will need to manually renew them.
2. Automatic Renewal: Listings will automatically renew every 4 months for the same fee of $0.20 per listing, ensuring they stay active without needing any action from you.
Shop Section:
Assign products to an existing section or create a new one. This helps organize assigned products into specific Etsy shop sections, making them easier for your buyers to browse.
Materials:
Enter details like ingredients, raw materials, or fabric types.
Styles:
Describe the style or theme of your product.
Step 10: Personalization Settings
This section allows you to enable personalization options for your products on Etsy, letting buyers customize items with details like names, colors, or patterns.
Is Personalization Available?
Select Yes to allow buyers to personalize the product.
Personalization is required
Set to Yes if buyers must provide personalization details before purchasing.
Personalization character limit
Define the maximum number of characters buyers can enter for their customization.
Personalization instructions
Provide clear guidance on what buyers should enter (e.g., “Enter the name you want on the shirt. Max 12 characters, no spaces, no special characters.”).
This feature enhances buyer engagement and helps sellers offer customized products directly through your Etsy listings.
Step 11: Inventory Template
Select an existing inventory template or create a new one to define stock levels, restock behavior, and inventory management rules for your products.
Step 12: Price Template
Choose a price template or create a new one to set pricing strategies, including markups, discounts, or currency adjustments for your listings.
Finalize and Publish
Review all details to ensure accuracy.
Scroll back up and click SAVE.
Once assigned to this profile, your products can now be live and visible to Etsy customers!
Repeat these steps for additional products as needed.
