Inventory Management
Optimize your inventory management for smooth Amazon operations with the CedCommerce Amazon Channel App. This section gives you complete control over how your stock is managed and updated between Shopify and Amazon.
Why is Inventory Management Important?
Accurate inventory tracking ensures:
Customers see real-time product availability.
Orders are fulfilled without unexpected stockouts.
Your Amazon listings reflect the latest stock levels from Shopify.
What Can You Do?
1. Enable or Disable Inventory Synchronization
Navigate to Inventory Settings under Product Settings.
Click Enable to sync Shopify inventory with Amazon.
Click Disable if you prefer to manage inventory manually.
2. Continue Selling When Out of Stock
Shopify allows selling products with zero or negative stock when this setting is enabled.
Enable or disable this option for Amazon listings.
Useful for pre-orders or items arriving soon.
Efficient Inventory Control
The Efficient Inventory Control setting helps you customize how your products are displayed and managed on Amazon. You can choose from three inventory management options, allowing for a streamlined and strategic selling approach:
Threshold-Based Inventory Display
Fixed Inventory Selling
Inventory Allocation for Future Sales
Note: The selected inventory setting will be applied globally to all products in your inventory.
3. Set Fixed Inventory
Enter a fixed stock value that remains constant, regardless of actual inventory.
Ensures a stable product availability on Amazon.
Ideal for drop shippers or sellers with consistent supply chains.
4. Reserve Inventory for Promotions or Sales Channels
Hold back a set number of units from Amazon inventory.
Helps manage inventory for exclusive promotions or dedicated sales channels.
Example: If your total stock is 20 and you reserve 5, only 15 will be available on Amazon.
5. Set Threshold Inventory
6. Delete Out-of-Stock Products Automatically
This setting allows you to control the status of your products on Amazon directly through your Shopify store.
How?
When this setting is turned on, deleting or archiving a product in Shopify, or changing its status from active to draft, will automatically update the product's status to "out of stock" on Amazon, making it inactive. This ensures that you do not receive orders for products no longer in inventory or planned for restocking.
If the setting is turned off, any action taken in Shopify, such as deleting or archiving a product, only unlinks it from the CedCommerce app without changing its active status on Amazon. This means you may continue to receive Amazon orders.
Adjust this setting based on your inventory management preferences and order fulfillment strategy to avoid overselling. 7. Manage Warehouses
Ensure accurate stock levels, prevent overselling, and streamline your Amazon inventory management.
