The Inventory Template is designed to help you manage stock levels across your profiles with ease. Without an Inventory template, the app will always keep inventory the same on Shopify and Etsy. By creating an inventory template, you can set predefined inventory rules that will automatically apply to products assigned to a profile. This template is optional but highly useful for keeping your stock synced between Shopify and Etsy, preventing overselling, and ensuring that inventory is updated in real-time.
The Inventory Templates grid displays the following details for each template:
Template Name: The name you've assigned to the template for easy identification.
Threshold Inventory: The minimum inventory level at which the app will send a warning or stop syncing.
Max Inventory: The maximum inventory level to be maintained in the Etsy shop.
Actions: Options to edit or delete the template as needed.
Click on the search filter to get the search field from the top right corner of the grid, if you’re looking for a specific inventory template.

There are 3 rules you can apply to inventory. Let’s take a look at them one by one.
This is the value of inventory; when reached on Etsy, the product will go out of stock. By default, this value is zero.
For example, let’s say you have a product with an inventory of 50 on Shopify. Without an Inventory template, the app will send 50 inventory to Etsy by default. But let’s say you want that as soon as the inventory reaches 10, you don’t want to sell on Etsy anymore. You want to sell the remaining 10 pieces only on Shopify. In this case, you will set the minimum threshold value as 10.
This is the maximum value of inventory that will be sent to Etsy. By default, this value is 999.
For example, let’s say that you have a product with an inventory of 150 on Shopify. Without an inventory template, the app will send 150 inventory to Etsy by default. But let’s say that you want to send only 50 of those on Etsy and the rest 100 you want to sell from Shopify only. In this case, you will set the maximum inventory value as 50.
Note: Etsy has a maximum inventory limit of 999 units per listing. Even if your Shopify inventory exceeds this number and you have enabled syncing, only 999 units will be synced to Etsy.
This rule will only be applicable in the case when ‘Track quantity’ and ‘Continue selling when out of stock’ options are enabled on Shopify. In such a case, you have two options –
Send 999 (Or the value of maximum inventory level) – Selecting this option will either send the value set for the maximum inventory level or the default value of 999.
Send as Shopify inventory – Selecting this option will send the exact same inventory as Shopify.
Once you have applied the inventory rules, give a name to the template and save it. Now your template is ready to be used in different profiles.
