Order Management Settings

The Order Management section helps you synchronize and manage orders between Shopify and Etsy. This ensures smooth processing, status updates, and customer communication across platforms. Below is a detailed explanation of each setting available under this section.


Shopify Settings


1. Cancel/Refund Orders

Enable this option to automatically reflect canceled or refunded Etsy orders in Shopify.

  • Canceled orders will be tagged as “canceled by the Etsy customer.”

  • Refunded orders will appear as “refunded from Etsy.”

This ensures that Shopify order statuses stay up-to-date with Etsy.

2. Shopify Order Name as Etsy Receipt ID

When enabled, this replaces the Shopify Order Name with the Etsy Receipt ID in the Shopify order section.
You can customize the format using a prefix and a suffix.
Example: Prefix (Receipt ID) Suffix like etsy113883ID.

3. Send Note to Shopify in Order

You can customize what kind of message gets passed to Shopify for each Etsy order. Drag and drop the following options in the order you prefer:

  • Gift Message: Used when a buyer marks the order as a gift on Etsy.

  • Buyer Message: A custom message entered by the buyer during checkout.

  • Custom Message: A fallback message used when no message is available from the buyer.

This message will appear in the order notes section on Shopify.

4. Disable Etsy Tax for All Country


When this is enabled, Etsy’s tax amount will not be passed to your Shopify store.
This can help avoid double taxation when syncing the same order data to both platforms.

Note: In the screenshot, this toggle is disabled.

5. Order Tax Split Setting

This setting allows you to apply different tax percentages for each country.
You can:

  • Select countries from a dropdown list.

  • Enter the tax percentage for each.

This is useful when selling internationally and complying with regional tax laws.

6. Shopify Order Tags

Add custom tags (up to 10) that will be attached to Shopify orders created from Etsy orders.
This helps in filtering and managing synced orders within Shopify more efficiently.

7. Shopify Shipping Method as Etsy Shipping Profile Name

If no shipping method is available in the Etsy order, this setting ensures that the Etsy shipping profile name is passed as the shipping method in Shopify.

8. Map Etsy with Shopify Shipping Method Mapping

This allows you to manually match Etsy shipping methods with Shopify shipping methods.
Purpose: To ensure consistent shipping labels and simplify order processing.

Etsy Settings


1. Sync Order through the App

When enabled, this fetches Etsy orders into Shopify.
You’ll be able to manage Etsy orders within your Shopify dashboard.

Notes
Note: If you disable this, Etsy orders, prices, and inventory won't sync to Shopify.

2. Sync Orders for Digital Listing through the App

Optional setting under the main sync setting.
Enabling it will also sync digital order details and mark them as completed on Shopify.

3. Manage Shipment from the App

Allows you to send shipment details from Shopify back to Etsy.

You can enable the following options:

  • Ship Order on Etsy without Tracking Number: Allows marking Etsy orders as shipped even without a tracking number.

  • Email Me a Copy of This Fulfillment Update: Sends the same shipping confirmation email to your own inbox.

Notes
Note: Etsy requires a tracking number for all US orders above $10 (as of August 11, 2021). Make sure this is followed to avoid fulfillment issues.

4. Note to Buyer

Add a default message for buyers when marking the Etsy order as shipped.
Example: “Thanks for your purchase!”

5. Default Carrier Name to be Sent on Etsy

Specify a fallback carrier name in case Shopify shipment details do not include one.
This helps prevent Etsy shipment errors due to missing carrier information.

6. Map Shopify with Etsy Carrier Mapping

Use this to match Shopify shipping carriers with Etsy carriers.
This ensures accurate tracking and smooth shipment updates across both platforms.

Click the "Add Carrier Mapping" button to start mapping.

By effectively using these settings, you can make it easier to handle orders from both sales channels efficiently.
