The Order settings control how your eBay orders are brought into Shopify and how the app handles them once they arrive. From here, you decide whether orders sync at all, how taxes and inventory are treated, how each Shopify order is named, tagged, and noted, what customer details are used, how shipment tracking flows back to eBay, and how cancellation reasons are mapped.
Like the Product tab, Order settings are configured per eBay account. You select the account from the Select account(s) field, and each selected account appears as a tab. You switch between tabs to configure each account on its own.
Manage Order
It enables or disables order syncing from eBay to Shopify. When it's on, your eBay orders are pulled into Shopify, and the settings below govern how each order is created. When it's off, orders don't sync, and the rest of the section doesn't apply.
eBay Collected Tax
eBay collects certain taxes on your behalf. When this toggle is on, those eBay-collected taxes are included in the final order price recorded on Shopify, so your Shopify order reflects the full amount eBay handled. Leave it off if you don't want those taxes added into the Shopify price.
Include Tax
When enabled, this includes tax in the order's price on Shopify, so the tax amount is carried into the Shopify order rather than dropped.
Include VAT
When enabled, this includes the VAT percentage, as specified in your eBay listing details, in the total order price on Shopify.
This setting decides how Shopify inventory is handled when an eBay order is created on Shopify. You choose from the dropdown:
- Decrement Obeying Policy reduces the Shopify stock for the ordered items while following each product's Shopify inventory policy.
- Decrement Ignoring Policy reduces the Shopify stock regardless of the product's inventory policy.
- Bypass leaves Shopify inventory unchanged when the order is created, so no stock adjustment is made.
Choose the option that matches how you want stock counted when eBay sales come through, depending on whether you fulfill from the same pool of inventory as Shopify.
Sync Without Product Details
When enabled, the app creates an order on Shopify even when the ordered item can't be found in the app. When disabled, which is the recommended setting, orders are created only for items that already exist on Shopify. Keeping it disabled avoids creating orders for products the app doesn't recognize.
Set Shopify Order Note
This lets you add a custom note to every order created on Shopify from eBay. Using the dropdown, you set the note value so each eBay order carries the same note, which is handy for flagging where the order came from.
This adds custom tags to every Shopify order created from eBay. Tags make it easy to filter and identify your eBay orders within Shopify, so you can quickly separate them from your other sales.
Set Shopify Order Name
This customizes the name of each order created on Shopify, so orders are easier to identify and trace back to their eBay source.
Set Customer Details
This controls the customer email used when an order is created on Shopify, with three options:
- Use eBay buyer email in customer details attaches the buyer's eBay email to the Shopify customer record.
- Don't use any email in customer details creates the order without an email.
- Set custom email in customer details uses a custom email you specify.
Pick the option that fits how you want customer records handled, keeping in mind how you communicate with buyers and any privacy considerations.
It keeps eBay updated when you fulfill on Shopify. When enabled, marking an order as fulfilled on Shopify syncs the shipment status and tracking details back to eBay. If disabled, the order is still marked as shipped on eBay, but without tracking details.
Two checkboxes refine it. Sync Tracking Details includes the tracking information in the sync. Mapping of Shipping Carrier lets you match your carriers across the two platforms using the Shopify Carrier and eBay Carrier fields.
You can add more than one carrier mapping with the plus icon and remove one with the delete icon.
Order Cancellation Reason
This maps your Shopify cancellation reasons to eBay's cancellation reasons, so when an order is cancelled, buyers see the correct reason on eBay. You pair a Shopify Reason with an eBay Reason, and you can add more than one mapping with the plus icon or remove one with the delete icon. Setting these ensures cancellations are communicated accurately rather than defaulting to a generic reason.
