This section manages how your products sync and appear on Gear Exchange.

  • By default, the information provided by the seller during onboarding is automatically reflected here. However, the seller can update the category and attributes at any time from the Settings.

  • Select an appropriate product category.

  • Displays the selected category path (e.g., Keyboards & Synthesizers >> Electric Organs).

Price Settings

Control how your product prices sync with Gear Exchange:

  • Gear Exchange Price

    • Use Shopify Price or Shopify Compare At Price

Info
If the Compare at Price is selected and in Shopify is set to 0, the Product Price will be sent to the marketplace instead.

  • Price Markup Options

    • No Markup

    • By Fixed Value

    • By Percentage Value

Gear Exchange Price Markup Options

These settings allow you to adjust the price of your products before they are listed on Gear Exchange, based on your Shopify store price.

1. No Markup

  • The product price on Gear Exchange will be exactly the same as your Shopify product price.

Info
Choose this if you want price parity across platforms with no additional margin.

Example:

  • If your Shopify price is $100, the Gear Exchange price will be $100.

2. By Fixed Value

  • Adds a fixed amount to your Shopify price.

Info
Use when you want to add a flat handling or margin fee (e.g., $10 more per product).

Example:

  • Shopify price = $100

  • Fixed markup = $10

  • Gear Exchange price = $110

3. By Percentage Value

  • Adds a percentage-based markup on top of the Shopify price.

Info
Useful if you want your profit margin to scale with the product price.

Example:

  • Shopify price = $100

  • Percentage markup = 20%

  • Gear Exchange price = $120

Compare at Price, Markup, and Errors

If you’ve selected “Compare at Price” in your settings but the product’s compare at price in Shopify is set to 0, the app will try to calculate a price using your markup settings. It won’t use ‘0’ as the markup price of Shopify here.

Notes
What happens here?
The app calculates your final price by using the markup value you choose in the app’s settings.
If the new price comes out to be less than $25, the app will show an error. In that case, the product won’t be updated or listed until the price is fixed.

Why this happens: This helps make sure products meet the minimum pricing rules for the marketplace.

Tip: To avoid this error, make sure your products in Shopify have a proper compare at price when using this setting.

Info
Each markup setting applies to all synced products once saved. Changes apply to all products when saved.
