Templates

The Templates section allows you to streamline the process of categorizing similar types of products by creating reusable templates. These templates enable efficient mapping of product attributes to Shopify's attributes, significantly reducing the effort required to update products individually while ensuring consistency and accuracy across your catalog.

How to Create a Template?

Here’s a detailed guide to creating a template for managing your product listings:

Step 1: Assign a Category

  1. Go to the Templates tab in the left navigation menu.
  2. Select "New Template" to start creating a new template.
  3. In the Category Mapping and Product Assignment section:
--> Browse the list of categories displayed (e.g., CDs & Vinyl, Office Products, Home & Kitchen, etc.)
--> Continue selecting the categories that best match your product.
--> Once selected, the chosen category will appear under Selected Category.

Step 2: Add Products to the Template

  1. Use the Add Products section to define the rules for product inclusion.
--> Select a Product Attribute (e.g., product type, tag, etc.).
    --> Define a Condition (e.g., equals, contains).
    -->
Enter the Attribute Value to specify which products meet the condition.
  2. Click Add a New Group to add additional product rules, if required.
  3. Once all rules are set, click View Results to preview the list of products that match the criteria.

Condition: This is the situational parameter you set against the selected product attribute to choose the products for the given rule group. Based on the product attribute, the condition can be of four types - Equals, Not Equals, Contains, and Not Contains. You can choose the best condition to assign your products to the template.

Attribute Value: Add the desired attribute value that best describes the product you want to assign to the template.

WarningNote: If your product is not found as per the rules you set, you’ll get the below pop-up message.

Step 3: Map Product Details and Variations

This step ensures that your product information is accurate, meets Temu's standards, and improves your product's visibility. Let’s break down the workings of this section to help you map products easily and get your listings ready for Temu.

Essential Product Details: Provide accurate product information to meet Temu's standards. This step ensures visibility and compliance.

Mapping Variation Types: Map Shopify product variations (e.g., size, color) with Temu options for consistent listings. Select multiple variations where necessary.

Optional Attributes: Add additional product attributes to enhance discoverability and improve listing accuracy.

Let’s take a detailed look at each of these sections:

Product Essential Details Section

The Essential Product Details section is crucial for ensuring that your products meet Temu's standards and are accurately displayed to shoppers. This section requires you to input mandatory attributes to enhance product visibility and compliance with platform policies. Here's a breakdown of the fields:

Temu Attribute Name:

  • This refers to the product properties such as material, composition, style, pattern, etc.

Required Attributes Value:

  • Map your Shopify metafield values with Temu’s available attribute options.

  • If a required attribute doesn’t have a Shopify metafield, it will not appear as an option for mapping.

Map Values Button:

  • Choose the correct Shopify metafield for the attribute.

  • Click the ‘Map Values’ button to link your Shopify values with Temu’s attributes.

Upon clicking on the ‘Map Values’ button, the following pop-up will appear:

    • No Warning Applicable (for safe products).

Benefits of Essential Product Information

  • Accurate Listings: Ensure your product complies with Temu's policies, reducing the risk of listing errors.

  • Enhanced Visibility: Providing complete and accurate details improves your product's discoverability and shopper trust.

  • Shipping Optimization: Correct package size and weight help streamline logistics and provide clear delivery expectations.

Step 04: Mapping Variation Types

  • Color to color

  • Color to size

  4. Repeat for Other Variations:

Step 05: Adding Optional Attributes

Add optional product attributes to improve listing accuracy and enhance discoverability on Temu. These attributes help shoppers easily find your products.

Uploading GCC File Product Guide

When listing your products on Temu, uploading the required GCC Certification Files and a Product Guide ensures compliance and provides essential information to shoppers. Here's how it works:

GCC Certification Files

  • Purpose: These files certify that your products meet safety and regulatory standards, which is a requirement for listing by Temu.

  • Upload Requirements:

    • You can upload up to 6 certification files, ensuring each file size is no larger than 3 MB.

    • At least one certification file is mandatory to proceed with the product listing.

    • Accepted formats typically include PDFs or images of certifications (check Temu guidelines for specifics).

Product Guide File

  • Purpose: The product guide provides detailed usage instructions, product specifications, and other helpful information to assist shoppers in making informed decisions.

  • Upload Requirements:

    • You can upload one product guide file, with a maximum file size of 20 MB.

    • This file is highly recommended to enhance your product’s credibility and appeal to buyers.

Tips:

  • Include detailed and clear product information (e.g., assembly instructions, warranty details, usage tips).

  • Use a professional format such as PDF to maintain readability across devices.

Why Upload These Files?

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Certification files ensure your products meet all legal and safety requirements.

  2. Customer Trust: A comprehensive product guide demonstrates credibility from the seller’s end and helps buyers trust your products.
