Templates Section - Overview

A template is a collection of data in the app that you can reuse as and when required while creating new profiles. Templates help you save time by allowing you to reuse common settings when creating new profiles.

There are six types you can create:

  • Shipping Template: Required for every profile. This template streamlines shipping settings by pre-defining shipping options, costs, and regions, ensuring consistency across your listings.

  • Inventory Template: Helps manage stock levels. Use this to set stock quantities, track product availability, and easily update inventory for multiple products at once.

  • Price Template: Simplifies pricing setup. This template allows you to set standard pricing rules, apply discounts, and quickly adjust prices across products without having to edit each listing individually.

  • Policy Template: This helps you define your shop policies, like return or exchange guidelines. Create a consistent set of policies for your shop that are automatically applied to new listings, ensuring clarity and transparency for your buyers.

  • Shop Section Template: Organizes your listings into sections within your Etsy shop. This template allows you to quickly categorize products (e.g., by type or theme), making it easier for customers to navigate your shop.

  • Production Partner Template: For sellers working with partners, this captures relevant details about them. Use this template to store information about your production partners, ensuring that the correct partner is linked to each product listing when necessary.

To create or manage these templates, click "Templates" in the left-hand navigation menu. This will take you to the templates grid where you can set up and adjust them as needed.

Click on the search filter to get the search field from the top right corner of the grid.

The Templates Grid

The Edit and Delete action buttons for templates offer you control over managing your templates:

  • Edit: Clicking the "Edit" button allows you to modify the details of an existing template. You can update settings such as shipping preferences, inventory management, pricing, or policies as needed.

  • Delete: The "Delete" button enables you to remove a template that is no longer required. Once deleted, the template cannot be recovered, so ensure it's no longer in use before proceeding.

Both options are accessible in the Actions column within the templates grid, giving you flexibility in keeping your settings up to date.

The templates page is divided into two main sections –

  • The top section has two buttons – one for fetching the existing Etsy Shipping templates (only available on the shipping tab) and the other for creating a new template.

  • The templates grid section, where you can see existing templates (divided into six tabs for each type of template).

Let’s talk about the template grid first, then we’ll move on to fetching and creating the templates.

The templates grid section has 6 tabs – Shipping, Inventory, Price, Policy, Shop Section, and Product Partners  – to separate the templates for your convenience.
