How It Works
When Manage Inventory is enabled from the settings:
- The app will fetch Etsy orders to monitor stock consumption.
- It automatically reduces inventory in Shopify for every item sold on Etsy.
- Orders themselves are not created in Shopify, keeping your Shopify order history clean.
- This approach prevents double-counting stock or overselling products if you’re managing inventory across both channels.
How to activate Sync Inventory?
1. Navigate to Settings > Order Management Settings
2. Select Manage Inventory instead of Manage Orders.
3. Save your changes and refresh the page.
4. After activation, you’ll see the Sync Inventory page in the left-hand menu.
Page Overview
The page lists all Etsy orders fetched by the app for inventory sync. Each entry shows details like Etsy Order ID, customer name, country, payment amount, payment status (e.g., Paid or Refunded), and the current sync status.
Orders marked as Not Synced, as you can identify in the screenshot above, indicate that inventory levels for those Etsy orders haven’t been deducted from Shopify yet.
Available Actions
This page includes two primary actions to manage inventory:
1. Fetch Orders
You can fetch the latest Etsy orders into the app to ensure all recent sales are accounted for.
Single Order Fetch: Click the fetch icon next to an individual order to import it.
Bulk Fetch: Use the button at the top-right corner to retrieve all new Etsy orders at once by selecting a date range like shown below.
This can also be used to fetch other orders, such as open and even shipped orders within your chosen date range
2. Sync Inventory
Once orders are fetched, you can sync inventory for any un-synced orders:
Click the sync action next to a specific order to update stock levels for that single Etsy sale.
For bulk updates, select multiple orders and trigger the sync to adjust Shopify inventory for all selected orders.
This action deducts quantities sold on Etsy from your Shopify stock.
