Attributes play a key role in defining your product listings, especially when selling on platforms like TikTok Shop that require specific details for accurate searchability and categorization. In UniCon, you can manage all your product attributes in one place under two tabs: Manage Attributes and Manage Mapping.
Manage Attributes
This section allows you to create, edit, and organize product attributes, helping you provide detailed, structured, and accurate information to your customers across channels.
Attributes can include anything from material type, color, and size to specifications like wattage or packaging style, depending on the product category.
The Attribute Grid
The attributes you create will appear in a structured grid with the following columns:
- Name – The display name of the attribute (e.g., "Color", "Material").
- Type – The data format (e.g., text, number, dropdown, date).
- Required – Indicates if this attribute is mandatory for listing on selected channels.
- Created On – The date the attribute was added.
- Actions – Options to:
- Edit – Modify existing attributes.
- Delete – Remove attributes that are no longer needed.
With this flexible structure, you can easily build attribute sets tailored to the requirements of each marketplace while maintaining consistency across your listings.
Filters
To help you find and manage your attributes more efficiently, use the available filters:
- System: Attributes automatically generated by UniCon for platform-wide use.
- Custom: Attributes created manually by you to suit specific product needs.
- Native: Attributes directly synced from connected marketplaces (e.g., TikTok Shop or Amazon).
- For attributes already in use: You can only edit the Name, Hint, and Required fields. All other settings are locked to maintain consistency.
- For native attributes: You can only edit the Name and Manage Options.
- You may add new options or delete newly added ones.
- But you cannot edit or delete existing default options sourced from the marketplace.
How to Add a New Attribute
To create a new attribute, click on Add Attribute. A form will open where you need to fill in the following details:
- Name – The label or title of the attribute (e.g., “Material” or “Battery Life”).
- Hint – A short description to guide users on what the attribute means or how it should be used.
- Type – Choose how this attribute will appear or be filled. UniCon supports the following types:
- Text Field – For short, single-line inputs like color or model name.
- Text Area – For longer descriptions or notes that need more space.
- Multi Select – Allows users to select multiple values from a list (e.g., sizes or features).
- Dropdown – Offers a single-choice list for structured input (e.g., material type).
- File – For uploading one file, such as an image or certificate.
- Multiple Files – For uploading several files at once, such as documents or datasheets.
- Number – For decimal values (e.g., weight in kg, power in watts).
- Integer – For whole number inputs (e.g., quantity, warranty period).
- Required – Choose whether this attribute is mandatory for listing your product on channels like TikTok Shop or Amazon.
