Attribute Mapping - TikTok Shop

Attribute Mapping - TikTok Shop

Now that you are well-versed with the concept of Attribute Mapping, Group, Channel, and Channel Accounts, let's dive deep into managing attributes for your TikTok Shop channel.

Global Mapping

Global Mapping allows you to standardize core product attributes that appear across your connected channel and account (in this case, TikTok Shop). This ensures consistent product visibility, uniform details, and better control over your listings.

You can map each global field with an existing attribute from your catalog or create a new custom attribute, if needed.
Notes
To create a listing, make sure all required UniCon attributes are properly mapped.

Notes
Required UniCon Attributes include Title, Description, and Price.

A few of the supported Global Attributes include:

Attribute
Description

Title
Main product name shown on all listings
Description
Core product description
SKU
Unique product identifier used for inventory/order sync
Price

Brand

Package Dimensions

By setting up attribute mapping through this section, UniCon helps you ensure that your product data stays accurate, synced, and optimized for each channel.

How to Add an Attribute

If your catalog doesn’t contain the required field:
  1. Click Add Attribute available in the dropdown menu of the respective attribute
  2. Define a new custom attribute with a label and type
  3. It becomes immediately available for mapping

This is useful when a specific field, like Size Chart or External List Price, doesn’t exist in your product data structure.

Clone Attribute

To save time while mapping similar attributes across multiple categories:
  1. Use Clone Attribute from the dropdown menu of the respective attribute
  2. This duplicates the current mapping logic, allowing quick adjustments without reselecting from scratch

Cloning is ideal for marketplaces with similar schemas across regions (e.g., TikTok Shop US and UK).

Categories

The Categories section lets you define and manage product categories that are specific to your connected channel — in this case, TikTok Shop.
Each category you add allows you to map unique product attributes (like size, color, material, brand, etc.) required by that category on the marketplace.

By setting up categories, you ensure that your product listings comply with TikTok Shop’s attribute requirements, improving listing accuracy, visibility, and sync success.

Categories help you organize your attribute mapping based on product types. For instance:
  1. If you sell Collectible Bags, the product type requires a different set of attributes on TikTok Shop.
  2. Mapping attributes under the correct category ensures that each product type is listed with the required and relevant details.

How to Add Categories

To assign a product category:
  1. Search for an Existing Category
    1. Use the 'Search a category' field to look for an existing category you’ve already added.
    2. This is useful if you manage multiple product types and want to quickly locate one to update or review its mappings.
  2. Add a New Category
    1. To define attribute mappings for a new product type
    2. Click + Add category.
    3. In the popup or selection menu, search for and select the product category you want to add.

Once you click on add category, you'll have two options:
  1. Search: Type keywords to quickly locate a relevant category
  2. Browse: Navigate through the category tree to manually select the most accurate match

  1. Once a category is selected, all its required and optional attributes will auto-load for mapping
  2. Select or add a classification for your category
  3. Next, make sure to map all the UniCon required, TikTok Shop required, and optional attributes for your category
  4. Click on Save
