The Product Linking page is where you connect your SHEIN products with your Shopify products so they work together as a single, synced listing. Linking is what allows inventory, pricing, and order data to flow between the two channels; without it, your SHEIN products and Shopify products remain separate. This page makes the linking process easy by showing you which products still need to be connected and offering a one-click action to link them.
Linking Status
Three tabs organize products by their linking state. Switching between tabs lets you focus on one category at a time:
- Unlinked – Products that exist in the app but haven't been connected to any Shopify product yet. These are the items that need your attention if you want them to function as live listings in your store.
- Linked – Products that are fully connected. Both SHEIN and Shopify versions are paired, and updates flow between them.
- Partially Linked – Products where some variants are linked but others aren't. This usually happens with multi-variant products (like clothing with multiple sizes/colors) where only a portion of the variants matched successfully.
On the right side of the tab bar, you'll find three familiar icons:
- Search – Quickly find a product by name or SPU.
- Filter – Narrow down the list by criteria like SHEIN status, variant count, or other attributes.
- Sort – Reorder the list to bring the most relevant products to the top.
Page Grid:
Each row represents one product, with the following columns:
- Image: A small thumbnail of the product. This helps you visually identify items at a glance without relying solely on text or SPU numbers.
- Product: Shows the variant count for each product (e.g., 1 Variant, 50 Variants). This is a quick indicator of product complexity. Single-variant items are usually faster to link, while multi-variant products may need closer review.
- SPU: The SPU (Standard Product Unit) is SHEIN's unique identifier for the product. Think of it as the product's ID card on SHEIN. You can use this code to cross-reference the product on SHEIN's platform if you need to verify details or troubleshoot.
- SHEIN Status: Shows the current state of the product on SHEIN:
- Inactive – The product exists on SHEIN but isn't currently live.
- Sold Out – The product is live but has no available stock.
- Other statuses (like Live) may appear depending on the product's actual state on SHEIN.
This column helps you decide which products are worth linking right now versus ones that might need other action first.
- Action: The rightmost column contains a Link button for each product. Clicking it begins the linking process, where you can:
- Match the SHEIN product to an existing Shopify product, or
- Create a new Shopify product based on the SHEIN listing.
Once linked, the product moves out of the Unlinked tab and into either Linked or Partially Linked, depending on how many variants were successfully matched.
A common way to use this page:
- Open the Product Linking page and stay on the default Unlinked tab.
- Use search or filters to find the products you want to start with.
- For each product, click Link and either confirm a close match or select/create the right Shopify product.
- After linking, switch to the Linked tab to verify the connection.
- Check the Partially Linked tab afterward to complete any multi-variant products where only some variants were paired.
- Use Import products from SHEIN whenever you want to pull in new products to be linked.
How to Link a Product
Click the Link button next to any product on the Product Linking page. This is where the actual pairing between your SHEIN product and a Shopify product happens. On the screen, you will see the SHEIN product at the top, then search for and select the Shopify product you want to connect it to.
SHEIN Products Section
The panel shows you the SHEIN product you're about to link. This summary helps confirm you're working with the correct item before pairing it. You'll see:
- Thumbnail image of the SHEIN product.
- Variant label — indicating how many variants this product has.
- Variant count detail along with a status tag like Inactive, Sold Out, or Listed showing the product's current state on SHEIN.
Having this fixed at the top means you always have a visual reference of the SHEIN side of the pairing as you scroll through Shopify products below.
Search a Product to Link
Here you'll find a Shopify product list along with a search bar at the top to help you narrow it down quickly.
- Search Bar: Type any part of a Shopify product's name to instantly filter the list below. This is the fastest way to find a specific product when your Shopify catalog is large.
- Product List Table: Below the search bar, your Shopify products are listed in a simple table with four columns:
- Image – A thumbnail of the Shopify product. If a product was added without an image, you'll see a "No Image" placeholder.
- Product Title – The full Shopify product name.
- Variant – A quick summary of stock and variants. This helps you verify availability before linking.
- Action – Contains a Select button next to each product. Clicking it marks that Shopify product as the one you want to link to the SHEIN product shown at the top.
You can scroll the list to browse all Shopify products, or use the search bar to jump directly to the one you want.
In the bottom-right corner of the panel sits the Link & Finish button. This is the final step that actually creates the connection between the SHEIN product and the Shopify product.
A small but important detail: this button stays disabled until you've selected a Shopify product using one of the Select buttons in the list. Once a selection is made, the button becomes active and can be clicked to finalize the link. This safeguard prevents accidental linking with no product chosen.
After you click Link & Finish:
- The panel closes automatically.
- The SHEIN product is now paired with your chosen Shopify product.
- The product moves from the Unlinked tab into either the Linked or Partially Linked tab, depending on how many variants matched.
- Inventory, pricing, and order data will now sync between SHEIN and Shopify for that product.
