Product Settings

Product Settings

Product Settings is where you define the rules the app follows when it builds and maintains your eBay listings. Once configured, they shape how products are created, what information is kept in sync, and how listings behave when things change.

The settings are split by direction using the tabs at the top of the panel: App To eBay, which controls how your data flows out to the eBay marketplace, and Shopify To App, which controls how data flows in from Shopify to the app.

The settings are configured per eBay account, so you choose which connected account you're setting up before you adjust anything.

Choosing the account to configure

Because you can connect more than one eBay account, the app first asks you to select the account or accounts you want to customize.

App To eBay

Everything under App To eBay tells the app how to construct and update the listings it sends to the selected eBay account.

Item Location

Item Location indicates the geographic location of your items on eBay. You enter the country, ZIP or postal code, and the specific location. eBay shows this to buyers so they know where an item ships from, and it's needed for listings to upload correctly.

Default Profile

This section sets the default values used for product upload and sync to eBay, and they apply only to products assigned to the Default profile. In other words, these are the fallback policies and templates for any product that isn't covered by a custom profile you've built.

For business policies, you choose a default Shipping Policy, Payment Policy, and Return Policy. For templates, you choose a default Category Template, Inventory Template, Price Template, and Title Template. Each dropdown has a plus icon to create a new policy or template

Product Syncing

Product Syncing controls whether products stay synced to eBay and which details are included. When the toggle is on, you choose the attributes to keep synced using the checkboxes.

The practical point is that you can uncheck any attribute you don't want the app to keep in sync with eBay. This gives you precise control over exactly what eBay receives and keeps updated.

End Product

The End Product toggle gives the app permission to perform end-listing actions on eBay. When it's enabled, the app is allowed to end your eBay listings as part of its automated behavior.

Sales Tax Details

This section handles how sales tax is applied to your eBay sales. eBay offers a tax rate table to help determine the correct rate for each state, and you control whether to use it through the Use eBay tax rate table dropdown. The responsibility for determining, collecting, and remitting the correct tax remains yours.

Shopify Warehouses

The section lets you choose which Shopify warehouse's inventory is used for your eBay listings. From the list of locations linked to your store, you select the one eBay should draw stock from. When you pick a specific warehouse, eBay uses only the inventory assigned to that location and ignores stock held elsewhere, which is useful when you fulfill eBay orders from a particular location.

Product Linking Preferences

This setting controls how the app links your Shopify products to your existing eBay listings. You define the attribute order the app uses to pair them by mapping a Shopify Attribute to an eBay Attribute, choosing from options such as SKU, Barcode, or Title.

When the toggle is on, this linking prevents duplicate listings and keeps products syncing accurately. You can add more than one attribute pairing using the plus icon and remove one with the delete icon, and the app prioritizes the attributes in the order you set, so it tries your primary attribute first and falls back to the next if needed.

Shopify To App

The Shopify To App tab controls how product data flows from your Shopify store into the app. Where App To eBay governs what the app sends out to the marketplace, this tab governs what the app pulls in from Shopify and keeps aligned. Unlike App To eBay, these settings aren't tied to a specific eBay account, since they concern the Shopify side of the connection.

Product Syncing

It controls whether your Shopify product details stay synced into the app and which details are included. When the toggle is on, the app keeps the attributes you select up to date from Shopify, so when you change one of these fields in your store, the app's copy of the product updates to match.

You choose which attributes to sync using the checkboxes, and you can uncheck any attribute you don't want the app to pull from Shopify.

Auto Product Delete

The Auto Product Delete toggle keeps your app catalog aligned with your store at the point of deletion. When it's enabled, deleting a product in Shopify automatically removes that product from the app as well, so you don't end up with items in the app that no longer exist in your store.

Auto Product Import

The Auto Product Import toggle lets the app pull in new products automatically as you add them to Shopify, so you don't have to import them by hand. There are a few important rules about how it behaves:

Which products get imported depends on the criteria set in your Product Import settings, specifically the "import by filters" or "import by collections" options. If you haven't set any criteria there, the app will try to import all of your Shopify products.

This feature only applies to products newly added to Shopify while it's on. It won't pull in products that already existed before, and it won't add a product to the app after that product's initial creation in Shopify. In other words, it acts at the moment a new product is created.

Because of that, a product has to meet your import criteria at the time of creation.
