Templates Overview

The Templates section is the central place to create and manage all of your templates in one view. Templates are the reusable rule sets that categorize your products correctly, make them easier to find on eBay, and keep details like price, inventory, title, and description consistent across your listings. Rather than configuring these details product by product, you build a template once here, then apply it through Product Settings or a profile.

Add New Template

The Add New Template button at the top right is how you create a template. It's a dropdown, so you first choose which type you want to build (Category, Inventory, Price, or Title), and the app opens the creation form for that type.

Filtering by type and searching

Below the heading is a row of tabs that filter the list by template type, each showing a count so you can see how many of each you have at a glance. The All tab shows every template together, and the Category, Inventory, Price, and Title tabs narrow the list to just that type.

The Search with name box filters the list by template name, which helps you jump straight to a specific template as your collection grows.

Page Grid

Each template appears as a row in the table, with these columns:
  1. Name is the template's name, with a copy icon beside it so you can copy the name with one click. This is the name you gave it when creating it.
  2. Country shows the eBay region or account the template is associated with, when applicable.
  3. Type shows which kind of template it is (Category, Inventory, Price, or Title), so you can tell them apart at a glance even in the All view.
  4. Profile shows the profile the template is linked to. This tells you where the template is being used.
  5. Actions holds the controls for editing and deleting.
    1. The Edit icon opens the template's form with its current settings loaded, so you can change any of its rules. Editing a template updates it everywhere it's applied: change the template once, and every product and profile using it follows the new rules.
    2. The Delete icon removes the template. Since templates are used by profiles and by your default settings, removing one affects the products that relied on it, so delete a template when it's no longer needed.
