FAQs: Orders

FAQs: Orders

1. Can I stop Etsy orders from getting imported into my Shopify dashboard?
Yes! If you don't want to create the Etsy orders in your Shopify store, you simply need to disable the setting "Sync order through the app" from the order settings, in the Settings Section of the App.

No orders will be created in your Shopify afterwards.
2. Can I ship my orders without any tracking information from the app?

Yes, if you are managing your orders from Shopify and want to ship them on Etsy without tracking details, you can enable the option to send shipment details from Shopify to Etsy when fulfilling orders. This allows you to ship your orders without entering tracking information.

However, please note that starting August 11, 2021, Etsy requires a tracking number for any order of $10 or more shipped to a buyer in the US before you can mark it as complete. If your order meets this threshold, you'll need to provide tracking information to comply with Etsy's shipping policies.

For more details on how to manage shipping, please refer to the app's settings screenshot below.

3. I have refunded the order on Shopify, will it be synced to Etsy?

To process a refund for an Etsy order, you need to refund the order directly on Etsy, as there is no API available to sync refunds from Shopify to Etsy. Even if you’ve refunded the order on Shopify, the refund will not be synced to Etsy, and no amount will be refunded through Shopify.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Refund the order manually on Etsy to ensure the refund is processed correctly.

NotesImportant Note: If you're managing the order from both platforms, the money for the order will only be deducted once. Therefore, make sure to perform the refund directly on Etsy to avoid any discrepancies.

4. How to fix "Missing Tracking Information" error in my order?

To fix the "Missing Tracking Information" error in your order, follow these steps:

  1. Provide Tracking Information in Shopify: Make sure you’ve entered the Tracking Number in your order on Shopify. Without a tracking number, the details won’t sync to Etsy.

  2. Shipping Without Tracking Information: If you want to update the shipping details without providing a tracking number, enable the setting "Ship order on Etsy without tracking number" in the app.
Settings>Order Management, please see screenshot for reference.

  3. Order Value Consideration:

    1. For orders under $10, you can ship without a tracking number by enabling the setting mentioned above.

    2. For orders over $10, Etsy requires a tracking ID to be provided. Make sure the tracking number is synced to complete the order on Etsy.

5. How to fix the error "Email Domain not Valid" in my order?

To fix the "Email Domain not Valid" error in your order, follow these steps:

  1. Check the Email Address: This error occurs when the email address provided by the buyer is incorrect or invalid. Verify that the email address is correct.

  2. Update the Email Address in the App:

    • In the app, locate the specific failed order.
    • Click on the icon next to the order to update the email address with the correct one.
  3. Sync the Order to Shopify:

    • Once the correct email is entered, the order can be synced to your Shopify store.
    • Go to the bulk drop-down menu and select "Create order on Shopify" to sync the order.
6. How to fix the "SKU Not Available" error in my order?

To resolve the "SKU Not Available" error in your order, it typically means that the product (SKU) ordered on Etsy is either not present in the application or hasn't been linked yet. Here are the steps to fix the issue:

Solution 1: Manually Map the SKU

  1. Go to the Order Section in the app.
  2. Manually search for the ordered SKU and map it to the corresponding product.

  1. If the SKU is not linked, click the "Link" button next to the unlinked product in the app to associate it with the order.

Solution 3: Sync SKU from Shopify

  1. Enter the SKU in Shopify for the relevant product.
  2. Select the action "Update Price & Inventory", to bring the SKU into the app, ensuring the product is correctly mapped.
7. Why my Order says "Unable to reserve inventory"?
It seems the stock for the product in Shopify has been finished or stock is not present in the ordered Shopify location. Please add the quantity in the Shopify product for which the order has been placed. Once the inventory is added, the order can be created on Shopify.
8. How does the order syncing work?
Whenever an order is placed on Etsy for your products, the Etsy Integration - CedCommerce app will automatically fetch the order and transfer it to your Shopify store.

From there, the order will be sent to the fulfillment services you've configured in Shopify.
Once the fulfillment center updates the tracking information, the app will automatically sync that tracking data back to Etsy, marking the order as completed on the Etsy platform.
9. Why my orders are not syncing?

Here are a few reasons why your orders may not be syncing:

  1. Order Management Setting is Disabled: Ensure that the order management setting is enabled in the app. If it's disabled, orders will not sync.
  2. You Are on the Lite Plan: The Lite plan does not support order syncing. To continue syncing orders, you need to upgrade to the Dynamic plan.
  3. Order Limit Reached on Current Plan: If you're on a certain plan, like beginner or beginner plus but have exhausted your order limit, you may need to purchase additional order add-ons or upgrade your plan to increase the limit.

  4. Order Error (on Shopify): If you're trying to locate an order in Shopify, there may be an error preventing the sync. Double-check the order details and ensure everything is correctly set up.
  5. Token Revoked: If the connection token between your Etsy store and our app has expired or been revoked, new orders will not sync. Reconnect your Etsy account from the app settings to generate a new token and restore syncing.
10. How the app will differentiate the Taxes when the order is sent to Shopify?
The taxes will be shown collectively in your Order when sent to Shopify as there is no valid API through which we can differentiate between the various taxes applied.
The overall amount of tax will be sent and shown in your order in Shopify.
11. Can an unpaid order on Etsy be created in Shopify?

No, an unpaid order on Etsy cannot be automatically created in Shopify. The application will only fetch and sync orders that are both open and paid.

However, you can still manually fetch the unpaid order from Etsy:

  1. Go to the "Order" section of the app.
  2. Click on the "Fetch" button to retrieve the unpaid order.

Once the order is paid and open, it will be automatically synced to Shopify.

12. Is the app compatible with the orders being processed by the POD app?

Yes! If you are getting the tracking for the orders from your POD app, the app will sync the information from there. However, make sure that the POD app does not fulfill the order on Etsy as it will create conflict with the app's process.

13. How can I manage Etsy order refunds through the app?
To process Etsy order refunds, you must initiate the refund directly on Etsy. Ensure the "Cancel/Refund Order Management" setting is enabled under the Order Management tab in the Settings section of the app for this process to work seamlessly.

Notes
Please note that refunds cannot be processed if initiated from the Shopify end due to Etsy API restrictions. Refunds must be handled manually on Etsy.

14. How to sync Cancelled/Refunded orders from Etsy to Shopify?

To sync the status for the Cancelled or Refunded orders, make sure you have enabled the "Cancel/Refund Order Management" settings in the Order Management.

If the setting is already enabled, you need to follow the below steps:

  1. Visit the 'Orders' Dashboard
  2. Select the orders for which you want to update the status by checking on the checkboxes to the left.
  3. Choose the option 'Sync Etsy Order Status' from the three-dots action.

  4. Proceed with the 'Submit' button.

This will sync and update the Cancelled/Refunded orders accordingly. For more clarity, read the help doc here

15. Why am I getting the "Please check the inventory on enabled location from setting" error and how can I resolve it?

This error occurs when the inventory is not available in the enabled location in Shopify.

To resolve this:

  1. Check the Enabled Location in the Settings section of the app.
  2. Ensure the inventory is present in the enabled location in Shopify.

Once the location is enabled and inventory is updated, you can publish the products directly from the All Products section of the app.

16. How do I manually set orders as fulfilled/completed?

If you've already shipped the orders from your Shopify store, but the order is still showing as incomplete on Etsy, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Orders section in the app.
  2. Select the order that needs to be marked as fulfilled.
  3. Run the "Sync Shipped Orders" option.

This will update the order status and mark it as fulfilled or completed on Etsy.
