Why and when does Amazon auto-cancel orders?

Why and when does Amazon auto-cancel orders?

Amazon will automatically cancel an order if you haven’t confirmed shipment within 7 days of the Ship By Date. This happens because Amazon requires timely fulfillment to ensure a good customer experience.

Additionally, Amazon may auto-cancel orders in these situations:
  1. The buyer’s payment method cannot be verified
  2. The buyer is identified as fraudulent

Important:

Notes
1. Auto-cancellations due to delayed shipment do impact your cancellation rate.
Notes
2. Auto-cancellations due to payment or fraud issues do not impact your cancellation rate.

To avoid auto-cancellations, confirm shipment on time and keep inventory levels updated. Maintaining a cancellation rate below 2.5% is crucial to prevent account health issues or even deactivation.
